When you are walking around in the hood, you have to be careful of what you are wearing. Wear red, and you'll get jumped by the Crips, wear blue and you'll get jumped by the Bloods. Wear green, and you'll get jumped by both.
That's why you've gotta dress in neutral tones as to not upset any rival gangs. Now this may seem hard to do, but it's actually quite simple! An simple and effective neutral color is white, everyone has something white. Careful not to mix it with any other colors though, because you don't know if that will be the color of some other gang (e.g. white and black of the Insane Unknowns).
It might also be safer to wear something to cover your face, like a mask. This way if you do upset a gang member, they won't be able to tell who you are. Now I understand that not everyone has masks, but a DIY mask can be easily put together by poking two holes in a pillowcase (thanks to Margaret for bringing this up!).
